IAR CE general information

  1. Can IAR CE be used for Insurance CE?
    1. No, they are separate entities. IAR CE and State Insurance CE currently have no overlapping credits. You will need to fulfill each requirement separately. Some IAR CE do, however, have overlapping credits with the CFP Designation. Please check your course description to verify.
  2. How many IAR credits do I need?
    1. 12 credits total. 6 Ethics and 6 Products and Practice (General).
  3. Do my IAR Credits Rollover?
    1. No, they do not.
  4. I am behind on my IAR Credits, how do I get them applied to last year?
    1. Credits will automatically backfill as you complete them, once you have met the previous year’s requirement, and any following credits will be applied to the current year.
  5. What license number do you need for my IAR credits to be reported?
    1. We need your individual CRD number, please do not put in firm CRDs as this could cause your credits to be delayed or not reported. You can look up your CRD number here: https://brokercheck.finra.org/ *Failure to provide your individual CRD number will result in no credits reported at year end. Quest CE will email you if you are missing a CRD number please make sure to check your email address, transcript and CRD are accurate. Waiting until after the year ends to contact us about the issue as FINPRO shuts down for 2-3 weeks after the year end, which severely delays and resolutions happening.*
  6. Can I repeat IAR CE courses?
    1. No, IAR does not allow any repeats of courses ever. Quest CE always rolls out a new package of fresh courses each January to help users avoid repeating courses.   7. When is the IAR CE deadline for me to complete my credits?
    1. We always advise the sooner the better, but the final deadline for IAR CE to be completed will be December 24th, 2025.
